Frequently Asked Questions

How can I tell whether XLL+ 7 has been installed?

If XLL+ 7 has been installed, it will be listed in the Visual Studio About box. Click on Help/About Microsoft Visual Studio to show the About box, and scroll down the list of installed products to find "XLL Plus 7.x" (where x is the minor version number).

The XLL+ menu items do not appear on the Visual Studio "Tools" menu.

First, check that XLL+ 7 has been installed. If it has been, use the Tools/Customize... menu in Visual Studio to show the Customize dialog.

Select the "Commands" tab, and the "Tools" Category. Scroll down the list of commands and find "New XLL+ Function...". Drag it onto the Tools menu.

In the same list of commands, find "XLL+ Function Wizard..." and also drag that onto the Tools menu.

Where are my XLL+ settings stored?

The settings that you enter in the XLL+ Options/General page are kept in the registry in the folder HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\8.0\DialogPage\Planatech.XllPlus7.OptionsPageGeneral. See Registry settings for more information.

The size and layout of the XLL+ windows and dialogs are retained in the file XlpFormLayouts.xml in the user's application directory. See User files for details.
