Licenses for Planatech products are contained in text files, with the extension ".lic".
The license file must be correctly named and must be located in the correct directory.
For fixed licenses, the name of the file is defined in the registry, under the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Planatech\XllPlus\4.2\License\LicenseFile.
For more information on the registry entries used by XLL+, see Registry settings
For floating license servers the name of the file is always the same as that of the license server executable, with the extension ".lic". The file must always be in the same directory as the license server executable. Thus, if the license server executable is C:\Tools\PleLicServer42.exe, then the license file will be C:\Tools\PleLicServer42.lic.
A license file contains one or more pairs of lines. Each pair consists of a line containing a license string followed by a line containing the password for that license string. The various licenses (each defined by a pair of lines in the file) may be stand-alone licenses or upgrade licenses that demand the existence of another license.
For more details of the meaning of license strings, see License strings.
Note that versions of XLL+ prior to 4.2 support only one license in a file (i.e. one pair of lines).
